Children's Books

Posted on May 03, 2018 by Brynn Young | 0 comments

Books are such a fun gift to give and receive!  It amazes me how children are drawn to certain books at such a young age.  Maddux’s first favorite was an Usborne book called “All Better,” and it’s absolutely adorable! There are five hard plastic bandages that stick on the pages and are reusable.  I have so many videos of Maddux flipping through this book and putting the bandages on the animals ouchies. He still loves it to this day!

We have two children’s Bibles, and I love them both. We received The Jesus Storybook Bible as a gift, and it's so special to us.  This is an award-winning Bible that is beautifully written and illustrated.  It invites children to discover for themselves that Jesus is at the center of God’s great story of salvation, and at the center of their story too.  We received this right after Maddux was born, and we started reading it to him right away.  I'll always remember rocking him as an infant, with his magical newborn scent, and reading this- tearing up every night at what an incredible gift he is to us!   We will definitely continue to read this in the years to come.

We are currently reading in The Rhyme Bible.  I have this on his nightstand, and we read in it almost every night.  If you forget, he will remind you!  Maddux seems to love the soothing sound of rhyme and this one has become a well-worn favorite.  It’s filled with vivid, joyful illustrations and each story teaches important Bible truths while giving children a reading time that’s fun!

The final is a unique and personalized book based on the letters of a child’s name.  We received this as a gift, as well, and it’s so sweet.  It’s the tale of a little boy who’s lost his name, and sets off on an adventure to find it!  You can personalize it to any name, and I think it makes for the perfect gift.

I’d love to hear some of your favorites!

House of Colour Experience

Posted on April 20, 2018 by Brynn Young | 0 comments

I haven’t stopped talking about House of Colour since I had my color consult. It was honestly one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself!

I first heard about this “color analysis” thing from my cousin’s sweet wife, and a dear friend. Once I heard about her experience, and a few others, I desperately wanted it done.

I can’t say enough about our day with our stylist, Karen. It started with the warmest welcome to her beautiful home where her studio is located.   We sipped on hot tea while she talked with ease about the history of color and the company, and then demonstrated “what not to wear” using some items in the wrong style and color for her from her wardrobe. She explained the science behind warm and cool colors and the different seasons.

When I had my color analysis done, my eyes were opened to the power of color. I witnessed colors that made me look rested, bright-eyed, and put together. I also witnessed colors that made me look washed out, grey, and tired. It was mind blowing to me when the earthy, almost-dirty-looking rosewood, beige, and moss suddenly looked exquisite, expensive, and elegant. The science behind the process is incredibly fascinating to me!

Once Karen discovered that I was an autumn, we jumped into the makeup. Karen matched the perfect powder, blush, concealer, and shades of lipstick. This was probably my favorite part of the process! She calls it the “90 second makeup,” and I was blown away at how just a few products gave great results. When you wear the right colors, the color does the work!

It’s simplified my closet, helped me be intentional with purchases, and my favorite part- everything goes together! When you stick to your colors in your wallet, you never have to ask, “What will I wear with this?!”

God blows me away every day at the gift of life- you are a masterpiece! There is no other person who is exactly like you; you are truly an original. There are billions of people in the world, and when God created you, he really did break the mold! Psalm 139 says, “I will praise you; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are your works; and that my soul knows right well.” It was so special to have someone really look at me and take time to discover what makes my eyes pop, my skin look brighter and smooth, and overall, bring out the best in me.

If you have any questions, I’d love to hear from you!

Friday Faves

Posted on October 06, 2017 by Brynn Young | 0 comments

Happy Friday, friends!

I'm excited to start sharing my Friday Favorites with you all.  My goal is to make it a weekly thing, and you may get to hear from some others on their favorites too :)

This week my top pick is our new cold shoulder sweatshirt!  It's already almost sold out, so if you've had your eyes on it, don't wait!  Take 15% off your order using code FALL at checkout.  Oh, and FREE SHIPPING!

1.  'The Erin' Sweatshirt:  So, I know I'm not supposed to have any Cornelius & Co. favorites, but I have to admit, this lightweight sweatshirt is one of my faves to-date.  I love the cold shoulder trend, and I especially like that this can be dressed up or down.  I also love it paired with high waisted cropped flares for a dressier look, so I'll be sharing that look soon.  The screen print on this top is amazing!  We've been doing a lot of water-based ink printing, which is long lasting and beautiful in person!

2.  Ready Set Go Leggings:  I never understood the hype about Lululemon, and I most definitely didn't understand the price.  Well, just call me a hypocrite because I'm OBSESSED.  I don't think I'll ever be able to put a different pair of pants on my legs ever again. They snug in all of the loose areas and are so comfortable!  I snagged these on sale, so that was a big bonus. They are currently sold out online, but I called a store and was able to order over the phone. They have a really cute hem line with some mesh detail.  I really love this pair!

3.  Nike Shoes:  I love this color of green for fall, and these shoes are super comfy.  Definitely recommend!

4.  Arbonne Fizz Sticks:  My ALL-TIME favorite pick me up drink is a pomegrante fizz stick from Arbonne that you mix with water.  It's so refreshing and gives me energy for that afternoon null.

I'd love to hear your opinions on this look in the comments!  If you have any items that you're loving, or any questions about sizing, please share or ask below!

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

These days, if I’m chasing anything, I’m determined to chase grace.

2016—and every year thereafter—is the year for grace. Grace in my relationships, grace in my business, grace in my walk with the Lord, grace with goals, targets, and milestones.

When the day is long and my to-do list is longer—I’m gonna chase grace.

When I’m feeling down or discouraged—I’m gonna chase grace.

When I’m bubbling over with joy and happiness—I’m gonna still chase grace….

I’m gonna chase grace period, which is why I’m soooo excited to introduce you to our Chase Grace women’s long sleeve shirt.

Top Favorite Hair Care Products

Posted on January 11, 2016 by Brynn Young | 0 comments

I’m not one to use a ton of product on my hair, but it is long, thick, and fairly dry, so I like to add a few signature products to it to spruce it up. These products are my absolute favorite hair products. I’ve fallen in love with them and use them every day (unless I don’t shower, LOL).

Kevin Murphy Doo.Over

Best hair care product I’ve ever bought!  I’m obsessed.  It’s a dry finishing hairspray with holding power to mold, form, and shape while giving hair freedom of movement.  I’ve tried a lot of texture sprays and I wasn’t a fan until I found this one.  It’s suitable for all hair types!  PLUS, it smells amazing!

Pureology Perfect 4 Platinum

I like to mix up the shampoo and conditioner I buy.  I sort of have a rotation that I go through.  My hair seems to do better when I rotate what I wash and condition it with.  Weird, I know!  My all-time favorite shampoo is the Pureology Perfect 4 Platinum Shampoo and Condition line.  It’s a sulfate-free shampoo, and it softens your hair while leaving it full of body. It’s the best for color treated blondes!  I love it!

Moroccan Oil Treatment

I’ve used this for quite some time, and I really like it.  Since my hair is rather dry, it helps make it silky, shiny, and overall healthier.

I put a small amount in my hair while it’s wet (prior to running a pick through it).  It helps detangle and leaves your hair nourished and manageable. It’s not thick and it’s not greasy. Definitely a favorite!

Kevin Murphy Body.Builder

I love this product because it is weightless and moisturizing, so you aren’t left with crunchy hair. You really can use quite a bit.  It gives my hair a silky hold and shine after blow drying.  It definitely helps with volume as well.

What are your favorite hair products?

Blushing over this blouse!

Posted on September 20, 2015 by Brynn Young | 0 comments

As I have gotten older, I’ve discovered my love for classic casuals in neutral tones (like this blush colored top!)  I love soft and feminine pieces that can be worn over and over again.  I’ve found that it’s worth it to spend the extra money on these timeless pieces because no matter how many times you wear and wash them, they still look brand new!

The back of this shirt has a little cut out that gives it some fun detail.  I wore it with one of my favorite pairs of jeans and fringe booties!
